ChemClings

ChemClings are shapes cut from self-cling vinyl which can be used to represent the structure of molecules and electron orbitals

ChemClings cling to windows, whiteboards, fume cupboards and other shiny surfaces. They can easily be moved around or taken down for storage.

In Autumn 2006, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) distributed one set of the molecular model kits to every secondary school in the UK and Ireland.

Thousands of different molecules can be made with just one molecular model kit and many atoms and covalent molecules can be made with the electron orbital kit.

The molecular model kits contain 104 pieces with vinyl disks in black, grey, blue, red and green to show different atoms and other parts to represent bonds and benzene rings. Most common organic molecules can be represented with this kit.

The electron orbital set contains 84 pieces with black circles on clear vinyl to represent orbitals and red and blue disks to represent the nuclei and electrons. The electron configuration of elements up to atomic number 18 can be shown as well as covalent bonding for many simple molecules.

ChemClings can also be used on use them on whiteboards, fume hoods, glass-fronted cupboards and will adhere to any shiny surface such as ceramic tiles.
